New exclusive Catholic Universe series: The Universe in Conversation with…

This week’s issue of The Catholic Universe sees the launch of a new series which will feature a collection of interviews with notable figures in the public life of this country.

‘The Universe in Conversation with…’ will see Michael Winterbottom, assistant editor, and Nick Benson, news editor, interviewing well-known personalities, including legendary soul singer Howard Hewett and Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg.

The series opens on Friday 9th November with Howard Hewett, lead singer of Shalamar, the soul and R&B band behind such timeless hits as A Night To Remember, I Can Make You Feel Good and Take That To The Bank.

Mr Hewett is one of the most iconic US soul artistes of all time, releasing numerous solo albums and collaborating or performing with some of the greats including Stevie Wonder, George Duke and Earth, Wind and Fire. He was recently voted by Soul Tracks as one of the top 10 greatest male soul singers of all time.

He speaks to The Catholic Universe about his faith and life in the music world.

Next week (16th November), we will hear from a very different personality, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Conservative MP for North East Somerset.

Leading Brexiteer and Catholic, Mr Rees-Mogg has been outspoken in the secular media with his views on abortion and same-sex marriage among other topics.
