Celebrities to join together for Christmas event supporting homeless

Celebrity guests from the worlds of music, comedy and cabaret will join together for a special Christmas show to raise funds for a charity supporting homeless people and marginalised members of society.

Acclaimed singer songwriter Judith Owen and her husband, actor and humourist Harry Shearer (The Simpsons, Spinal Tap) will host the 12th anniversary of Christmas Without Tears at London’s Crystal Room at the May Fair Hotel on Monday 3rd December.

The annual tradition began as a humble holiday house party but transformed into a charity event and performance in 2005 when it was staged to aid the people of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

This year’s shows in London, Chicago, LA and NOLA will benefit a variety of different charities raising money for the homeless, mental health and musician’s assistance (USA shows).

The evening includes both invited performers and surprise guests who drop into Harry and Judith’s onstage living room and share a song or a joke to bring the holiday spirit to all. Comics, magicians, and even circus acts have been welcome additions, adding the perfect mix that makes this a true variety show.

Confirmed acts for the 2018 performance include Welsh actor, comedian and beloved TV host Rob Brydon, celebrated singer and radio presenter Clare Teal, Australian comedian Adam Hills and the supremely talented British singer Julia Fordham.

A portion of the proceeds from the London performance will benefit The West London Mission. Part of the Methodist Church, the West London Day centre helps approximately 100 homeless people a day trying to get them into long term accommodation and work alongside rehab projects and other healthcare issues.
