CAFOD Lent Appeal – 2 days left to have your donations doubled
Zimbabwe has been in crisis for nearly two decades, with climate change adding to problems including sky-high unemployment, cash shortages and crumbling social services. But for the country’s 16 million people, there is renewed hope with elections on the horizon in July following the stepping down of the aging former president Robert Mugabe.
For more than 20 years, CAFOD and its local Caritas partners have been supporting Zimbabweans to develop sustainable ways of earning a living. Until 12th May, the Department for International Development (DFID) is doubling the funds raised by the CAFOD supporters in its Lent Appeal. The funds raised will reach an estimated 245,000 people in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Eritrea.

I’ve been a Lead Mother for one year. I support and assist pregnant women as well as those who have just given birth. I conduct home visits to mothers between the ages of 20 and 25, teaching them to breastfeed, and to give their children breast milk exclusively for the first six months.
