A message of support and prayers to all our readers

Dear fellow Catholics,
During these troubled times ahead we know you will all be concerned for the wellbeing of yourselves, and for your loved ones.
Having our Mother Church at our side is both a comfort and a companion. His Eminence, Cardinal Vincent Nichols has said that our Catholic churches will remain open as much as possible, even if large Mass gatherings are no longer possible.
Pope Francis has also made it clear that he wishes our parish priests and lay organisations to continue to visit the sick and housebound as much as is practically possible. Already we have heard from many of our parishes, with the good news that plans are being put in place to ensure that the vulnerable and elderly are contacted regularly, and their needs are met.
Knowing that for you, our readers, The Catholic Universe and The Catholic Times provide invaluable comfort and support, we are determined that you will continue to be able to get your Catholic paper.
We will continue to produce our newspapers every week, and deliver them in print and digitally. We are contacting all UK and Ireland parish priests to ask them to continue receiving our Catholic papers, so they can be made available at church, or distributed to you directly.
In cases where you find you cannot get your Catholic paper via your parish, we can supply it to you directly.
Please use this website to order your direct subscription, or call us on 0161 820 5722, and we’ll do the rest for you.
This website will also carry news updates and information on the situation as it affects us Catholics. Please do keep in touch. We are here with you always and are keeping you in our prayers.
Talking of which, there is a beautiful prayer written by St Francis de Sales, the patron saint of journalists, that we would like to share with you here.
It seems very appropriate for these difficult times:

Be at Peace
Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life;
rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same understanding Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.
He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

We are also available personally via phone and email,
and would be delighted to hear from you with anything
you wish to share or discuss.

Thank you for your invaluable support.

With best wishes and prayers
